Bob Myers confirmed that the Golden State Warriors will work with Kevin Durant on any type of contract he seeks in free agency.

"Sometimes you don't negotiate", Myers told the Associated Press.

Durant is most likely to sign a one-plus-one contract again this offseason and then sign a five-year contract in 2019 at 35 percent of the max.

"I heard him say that, but I'll believe it when it happens", Kleiman told ESPN.

The Golden State Warriors are the National Basketball Association champions, and as much as they'd like the keep the gang together their roster will likely see some influx this summer.

"We knew we kind of broke them a little bit with that one", the NBA Finals MVP said. "I'm happy I'll be able dial up some of them and get some equity in that deal when it comes to being able to talk amongst the greats and experience what they experienced". "Before his Warriors exit I want to enjoy as much time with him as possible". "He's earned that to lay out the terms".

"Our goal - to be honest - is to keep the whole thing together", Myers said. The Warriors won titles in 2015, 2017 and 2018 - with each year being noted on the rings on Green's shirt - while the Cavaliers famously came back from a 3-1 deficit to win the title in 2016. With the two-time defending champs slated to return their entire core (potentially minus reserves David West, Nick Young, Zaza Pachulia, JaVale McGee, Kevon Looney and Patrick McCaw), KD is the only major piece of the puzzle that isn't locked in.

The point about Curry is particularly jabbing as he leveraged those same comments into a "super-max" contract last season, something that's definitely on the table for Durant this summer as well.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was asked about West's quote on Monday, and downplayed the idea that anything insane was going on behind the scenes.

Will Barton - one of the most underrated players in the league, who might get squeezed in a tight free agent market.

"You never really get exactly what you want", Myers said.
