Samsung has confirmed that it will be debuting the Galaxy Note 9 on August 9. Apart from the S Pen, the camera is going to be another area where Samsung is going to make major improvements.

Around the back it seems the cameras will be similar to those used on the Galaxy S9+ with improved optical image stabilization and that variable lens aperture that Samsung is so proud of. Murtazin even sheds some light on the weight of the Galaxy Note 9 and says that it has slightly heavier courtesy the 4000mAh battery. He brought attention to the fact that the new phone sported curved Super AMOLED-backed "Infinity Display" panel which was the same as the one in Galaxy Note 8, which debuted in August a year ago.

In terms of performance, the Samsung Note 9 will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC in Korea and United States and an Exynos SoC in other markets including India. Rest of the market could be treated with its Exynos 9810 variant. There are reports that there will be a higher spec 8GB RAM model with storage options of up to 512GB. Not only this could push beyond a full day of use, he also claimed that the Note9 could last up to 25 hours of video playback in maximum brightness. The company is also expected to unleash an 8 GB RAM edition of the Note 9 that will either include 256 GB or 512 GB of internal storage.

One of the biggest pain points of a Samsung flagship has always been its battery.

Xiaomi's first Android One smartphone, the Mi A1 is receiving an OTA update for the latest version of Android, version 8.1 Oreo. You can expect the same IP68 water resistance, fast wireless charging and stereo speakers from the current S9 series. As rumors have revealed, Murtazin has said that the S Pen stylus will be arriving with some major improvements including support for Bluetooth connectivity. The current Note8 was launched at RM3,999 with 64GB of storage and this could be the price for its base 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version.

These updates are now going out over the air, so if you've got a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge, keep an eye out for your update over the coming days.
