Avengers 4

On July 9, the moderators behind r/thanosdidnothingwrong will ban half of its members in honor of Thanos' ultimate goal of destroying half of the world's population to protect survivors from starvation and overcrowding, inspired by (***SPOILER ALERT***) the ending of Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War. The announcement was made last week and 4 days ago, the subreddit had almost 300,000 subscribers.

During Infinity War, Doctor Strange saves Tony Stark/Ironman's life by giving Thanos the Time Stone.

Avengers: Infinity War has played an important part in social media over the last few months.

But the number of casualties could be even greater as the more subscribers join.

Joe Russo took to the forum Sunday afternoon to post a video of Brolin laying down shirtless delivering the snap that would wipe out half the followers. With the subreddit now at 360,000 subscribers, that would mean 180,000 Reddit users instantly banned with the snap of a gauntleted finger. While those numbers are impressive, they are nothing compared to what's happening over at the Thanos Did Nothing Wrong subreddit where as of this writing, the post has over 80,000 upvotes and has 13.8 thousand comments. Twitter user Anton Volkov shared a certificate for the German home video release of Infinity War. If that's not enough, the post has been gifted with Reddit Gold, which costs $1, 14 times.

Jim Starlin, the creator of Thanos, confirmed this and that much of Thanos' story was cut out from Infinity War. The subreddit dedicated to him has grown exponentially since the idea to ban half its subscribers began to pick up steam, with the current count sitting at almost 465,000. The Thanos Did Nothing Wrong subreddit has not announced if they will follow the story of Avengers 4 and reverse the snap next May. Also, the engineers would not be prepared for a mass ban so close to it. Those who make it through the slaughter like in the film, will remain in the subreddit.

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
