A man with no arms stabbed a tourist in Florida, police say

Crenshaw then got up and used the scissors in self defense and quickly walked off, police said.

According to the Miami Herald, Crenshaw is a popular fixture in South Beach, where he is known for painting canvas using his feet on the Lincoln Road Mall.

In a freakish incident, a 46-year-old homeless was arrested for stabbing a tourist with a pair of scissors using his feet.

But Miami Beach police say 46-year-old Jonathan Crenshaw held a pair of scissors with his feet and stabbed 22-year-old Cesar Coronado just after midnight early Tuesday.

Coronado was found bleeding from his left arm; Crenshaw was arrested the following day and he told an officer that the stabbing happened in self-defence, the Herald reported.

A female friend of the victim told police the pair stopped to ask Crenshaw for directions when he pulled out an unknown object and stabbed Coronado before running away.

Police said there were no indications that Crenshaw was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident. Paramedics took him to an area hospital for treatment.

Barrientos described the attacker to police as a homeless, armless man. Officers found Crenshaw a short distance away and arrested him.

Crenshaw's most recent conviction was for the felony battery of a police officer in 2014, and came with a sentence of 180 days in jail. He has a court date set for July 18.
