There is a new "Desert" biome and two new locations, Paradise Palms and Lazy Links.

Fortnite's fifth season has officially arrived with a host of new features, map modifications and cosmetic goods in tow. It looks like a sort of off-road golf kart, which is no less than you'd expect from Fortnite. Dropping in there could be a death sentence for newer players and with Season 5 officially kicked off, it's going to be a hot zone for sure!

Beyond the map changes, the most intriguing addition in Fortnite season 5 might be that of the All Terrain Kart (ATK). Rewards change each Season, so check out the Battle Pass tab in the game to see what can be earned.

New "Rifts" will also be introduced into gameplay. Season 5 of the hit game dropped on July 12. These will take you "for a wild ride" if you dare step in, so maybe they'll act as some kind of teleportation portal. Not only does this vehicle drive you and your mates around, but the roof acts as a bounce pad and if you leap over obstacles, everyone in the ATK can lean back and release simultaneously for a higher jump. Progressive challenges no longer run out at the end of a season, with players able to complete them at their own pace rather than having to rush. You have to figure out where the map is pointing to in order to find the treasure and complete this challenge.

You can read the full list of patch notes below. The heavy shotgun now fires 10 pellets instead of 5, but the maximum damage of the weapon has been unchanged.

The Lightning Bolts are always located in the same areas, and there are more than seven scattered around the island, so it should be easy enough to complete the challenge once you know where to find them. There will now be a delay when players switch from firing one shotgun to another.

In 50v50 or 20v20 modes, you'll now get bonus XP up to three times per match for reviving teammates.
