Liverpool's weakness in the goalkeeper position has been addressed with the purchase of Brazilian Alisson from AS Roma and with Virgil van Dijk having settled in following his move in January, Klopp's side look a much more complete package.

Up front, the dynamic trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have support from new arrival Xherdan Shaqiri and if his goal in the pre-season friendly against Manchester United in America last week is a sign of what is to come, he will be a bargain at £13m.

Former Liverpool striker Owen believes that Jurgen Klopp's side will pick up all three points against West Ham this weekend.

In Liverpool's final pre-season hit out against Italian club Torino, the club's first pre-season appearance at Anfield, Karius made his own personal return to Anfield, and was given the kind of reception the Liverpool crowd has become famous for over the years.

"Hopefully he will go on to be a great goalkeeper and be remembered for that but Liverpool had to make a change because I think there would be no belief in Liverpool actually, never mind winning a league but challenging for the league with the two goalkeepers they had".

"No matter how early I get into Melwood, I get up the stairs and he's already there-sat there with the laptop open watching goalkeepers from the other end of the world".

"I was not surprised, to be honest, but as a human being I was hoping for it and I loved it", he added.
