Unai Emery's appointment as the new Arsenal manager has sparked quite a lot of debates and discussions - some revelling in his three consecutive UEFA Europa League triumphs with Sevilla while many pointing out his underwhelming stint at Paris Saint-Germain.

Joining Arsenal in 2014 from Premier League rivals Manchester United, Danny Welbeck has so far made 112 appearances for the Gunners across all competitions.

Cech is expected to be handed the armband tomorrow when Manchester City visit the Emirates for the first Arsenal game in 22 years not managed by Arsene Wenger.

City were almost flawless last time out, winning the league with a record number of points (100), goals (106) and points margin (19).

The right back wasn't at his best last season and the Arsenal supporters hope that Stephan Lichtsteiner replaces him from the starting eleven but we don't expect Unai Emery to start the veteran right back in such an important match like this.

'People say we have to forget what we did last season. City, I think, after two years of working with Guardiola they have more stability, more security and when you watch City's matches, they are playing with a very, very great confidence in themselves.

And after just 14 minutes, Arsenal conceded their first goal of the season with Raheem Sterling was allowed to pick up the ball on the left corner of the box, ran inside and crashed a shot past Petr Cech in goal. 'Forget how much Liverpool have spent, they were already a good team last season as well. They don't know it, one day one of them will be a manager and realise what we feel, ' he said. We need four on the top level.

However, Emery said Welbeck has shown he can play all over the pitch: "Danny Welbeck is one of the players who has a multi-position possibility". He will play alongside Shkodran Mustafi and fans will want better performances than witnessed in pre-season.

The 27-year-old has often been praised for his versatility and it seems Emery is keen to embrace this quality as he prepares for his first competitive game as Gunners boss.
