UK PRESS GETTY NEVER SAY NEVER Elba

Idris Elba is like the coolest, smoothest dude alive so yes, he should be James Bond and probably Indiana Jones, the next Wolverine and my dad. The script for the 25th Bond film is now being written by Trainspotting screenwriter John Hodge: "We've got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment".

According to the report, Bond series producer Barbara Broccoli told director Antoine Fuqua "it is time" for a non-white actor to take on the role of the British super-spy created by Ian Fleming.

He added: "Idris could do it if he was in shape".

The conversation was said to have included Elba, saying the film needed "a guy with a physically strong presence".

Rumours have resurfaced on the web, hinting that Idris Elba may succeed Daniel Craig as the new James Bond.

Elba recently spoke to the Press Association about his next role, where he will be playing Quasimodo. Fuqua said he made Broccoli aware that it's time for a new direction in the franchise, one in which an actor of color plays the coveted lead role.

It seems James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli is very keen in casting Luther and Thor star Idris Elba as the superspy in future movies.

Along with that, Twilight movie star Kristen Stewart had also revealed her desire to portray the role of James Bond and wished to become the first female spy in the franchise. It could be a woman - could be a black woman, could be a white woman.

The forthcoming Bond 25 film, directed by Danny Boyle, is likely to be Daniel Craig's last outing as the protagonist after he said that he wanted to "go out on a high note".

In a 2014 interview with CNN, Elba said he would definitely be open to it.

Daniel Craig confirmed that he would be returning for the 25th instalment in the long-running franchise.

Of course, we've been on board with these ideas for quite some time and though it's got to be frustrating for Elba, I love that he simply and succinctly summed up what needs to happen.
