Nintendo Switch Paid Membership will Lauch in Second Half of September

Nintendo Switch Online service coming in the second half of September

Nintendo Switch Online service coming in the second half of September

We're hoping Nintendo will be more specific with its plans sooner than later before launch (perhaps through a Nintendo Direct that will also announce games that will heavily use the service). While the service was supposed to go live last year, Switch owners ended up getting an extra year of free online multiplayer access. Extras that have been confirmed to include online play, cloud back-ups and save files for compatible games, and access to classic NES games with new online feature.

That means the service should arrive in a little over one month, though Nintendo has yet to specify exactly when. Will you be subscribing to or avoiding the Online service? So far Ice Climber, The Legend of Zelda, Balloon Fight, Soccer, Tennis, Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., Dr. Mario, Super Mario Bros. An additional 10 launch games will be announced in the future. An exact launch date won't come until closer to launch, but considering it's coming in just over a month, I'm not sure exactly why that information isn't available for this release window announcement.

You can read about the full details of the Switch online service below. All we don't know is when exactly we'll have to start paying for the privilege to play our games online.

"Not all games require a Nintendo Switch Online membership to play online", Nintendo of America stated. The Online Nintendo Switch is something new that the company is looking forward to.
