The video, which was posted to Morrison's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts on Thursday evening, shows a bunch of Coalition MPs sticking their hands up in the air during Question Time, as the rapper shouts: "You got a hundred dollar bill, get your hands up!"

The Australian Prime Minister has been forced to remove a video, tweeted from his personal profile, dubbing some of his antics to a song by US R&B star Fatman Scoop, after criticism the lyrics were inappropriate.

After deleting the video, Mr Morrison sent out another tweet close to midnight apologising for posting it following puzzled and critical comments.

The video was posted to Morrison's Twitter account at 7.39pm on Thursday night.

'We're just trying to connect honestly with people and some of the narcs will get a bit worked up about this sort of thing'.

'It's quite clear that it's not a song that's on my playlist and I think I might stick to my regular playlist, ' Mr Morrison said. "You got a 50 dollar bill, put your hands up!"

The accompanying track - Be Faithful by hype man Fatman Scoop - left many puzzled.

The song has several explicit lyrics.

Morrison eventually deleted the meme and apologised, tweeting that "the full lyrics of the song used in my earlier video from QT today were just not OK".

"I think people think politicians can take themselves a bit too seriously at times".

It social media into a meltdown, with one user claiming the country was being "run by a 13-year-old".
