Melania Trump goes on safari in Kenya and visits an orphanage

Melania Trump certainly seems to have settled on a theme for her travel wardrobe in Africa: safari chic.

Her husband tweeted: "Our country's great First Lady, Melania, is doing really well in Africa".

Trump met with her counterpart, Kenya's first lady Margaret Kenyatta, and attended a theatre performance.

School educators also explained to the first lady how important the USAID textbook donations, which help power the country's National Reading Program, are to children at the school.

The Kenya Wildlife Service headquarters is also anticipating a visit by Melania Trump.

The United States First Lady Melania Trump was on Friday, October 5, at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage in Nairobi, and either her or the baby elephants were excited to see each other.

Kenya is the third stop on her Africa tour, which began Tuesday in Ghana and continued in Malawi on Thursday.

"I have covered [ Melania Trump ] for nearly two years and have never seen her smile and laugh more than she is now with these baby elephants".

Dressed in riding trousers, boots and a white pith helmet, she climbed into an open-air vehicle for the safari, taking photos on her iPhone and peering through binoculars for a closer look at zebras, giraffes, impalas, rhinos and hippos bobbing in water.

She went directly to Chipala Primary School in Lilongwe, which receives education aid from the US Agency for International Development.

An hour into her safari ride, Trump adjusted her outfit and climbed out of a vehicle to visit an ivory burn site, where the material has been destroyed to discourage the ivory trade.

A plaque at the Ghana fortress commemorates Obama's visit.

The mother of a 12-year-old son, the crux of Trump's trip is focused on schools, hospitals and orphanages while she focuses on the wellbeing of children. The people love her, and she loves them!

According to an AP report, the first lady was "joyously welcomed at the airport" by a troupe of women singing and dancing, but "a few signs of protest were afoot, too, as President Trump is not widely seen as a friend of Africa".
