Caroline Wozniacki won the 30th title of her career and third of 2018 with a 6-3, 6-3 over Latvia's Anastasija Sevastova in 87 minuites.

It was Wozniacki's second title in Beijing, following her success in 2010 which had taken her to the top of the world rankings for the first time in her career. "I had some problem the last three days and it affected a little bit my game".

The victory was Wozniacki's second title in Beijing.

"Unfortunately, I have been playing through pain in my back this whole week", the world No. 6 said in a subsequent statement released by organizers. "I'm just happy to have reached 30 today, I'm going to enjoy that", said Wozniacki. "I became number one here for the first time many years ago - eight years ago", said Wozniacki.

Both players held serve until Sevastova handed Wozniacki a break with an ugly unforced error, sending a drop shot straight into the net, putting the Dane up 4-2.

"By the third match, I thought I played really great tennis". Then after number one in the world, I wanted to win a Slam, then I wanted to lift trophies.

"She didn't give me any presents, it was tough", said Sevastova, who retired in May 2013 because of persistent injuries, only to return in January 2015.

In the men's final, big-hitting Basilashvili collected his second title of the year after winning in Hamburg.

The 20th-ranked Latvian will face the victor of the semifinal between China's Wang Qiang and Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark.
