Nokia 3.1 Plus

Nokia 3.1 Plus

After announcing the Nokia 7.1 in London last week, the company is here in India this week to bring a brand new Nokia phone, the Nokia 3.1 Plus. The rear panel gets a metal layer rather than plastic to give it a more premium finish. "As the name suggests, it's a larger version of the Nokia 3.1 that launched in the summer (of which Corbin was a big fan), with the screen size jumping up to 6 inches from 5.2". What's good about the smartphone here is that Nokia has struck a sweet balance without loosing out on the build quality, while also maintaining a classy and modern look - and that's typical Nokia. The front is covered by a 2.5D glass for protection. The screen itself is an IPS LCD one with decent viewing angles and punchy colours.

Like its predecessor, the Nokia 3.1 Plus also ships with a MediaTek processor under the hood. Coming to the pricing and availability, the new Nokia 3.1 Plus will go on sale starting October 19th for Rs 11,499. Thankfully, this time, we get the Helio P22 chipset which is a decent performer as the same SoC powers the Xiaomi Redmi 6.

One of the biggest difference is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset. It comes in two variants - 2GB RAM and 16GB storage and 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage.

Just over a week ago HMD Global confirmed that it would be holding an event in India tomorrow.

In terms of optics, the smartphone features a dual camera setup on the back, offering a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. And now with Adaptive Battery, Android 9 Pie uses deep learning to understand patterns in phone usage and prioritises battery power for your favourite apps.

Unlike the company's other Plus models, the Nokia 3.1 Plus doesn't include a notch. Now, the new Nokia 3.1 Plus is an upgrade to Nokia 3.1 and offers better performance with the same 2-day battery life. We are yet to gaze on the overall performance and potential of the smartphone - stay tuned for the complete review shortly.
