Pokemon Go New Special Research Quests Featuring Mythical Pokemon Meltan are on the Way

It all seems a little complex, but The Pokemon Company and Niantic are clearly working hard to ensure players who are deeply involved in both Pokemon Go and Pokemon Let's Go are rewarded with access to this new Mythical Pokemon.

In order to catch Meltan, it is essential to have a Mystery Box, which can be received by sending Pokemon from Pokemon Go to Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! or Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee! I'm not sure exactly what the trailer is saying, but after a few Meltan gather into one spot, the trailer cuts to a silhouette of some giant Pokemon. The Pokemon Company tweeted that Professor Oak and Professor Willow will be reaching out to trainers "soon".

As previously mentioned, you'll only be able to transfer the original 151 Pokemon-as well as their Alolan forms-from Pokemon Go to Let's Go, and the process is a one-way transfer; any monsters you send to the Switch games can not be returned to Pokemon Go.

The investigation is still ongoing, but the long and the short of it is this: Professor Oak has discovered a mysterious Metal Box that is made up of the same materials as Meltan itself - being that Meltan is a Steel-type Pokemon that has liquid metal as a large part of its body. Today, The Pokemon Company is offering significantly more details, including how to catch Meltan. To open it again, you'll need to wait a set period of time and transfer another Pokemon from your mobile device to your Switch. Now we (sort of) have the full picture and one thing is clear: you can only catch Meltan in Pokemon Go. Those that you do transfer will end up in the Go Park, a new facility that replaces the Safari Zone in Fuchsia City.

The Go Park isn't only good for bringing your favorite monsters over from Pokemon Go; if you transfer 25 of the same species, you'll be able to play a minigame in an area of the Go Park called the Play Yard.

The two keys to capturing this Mythical Pokemon are a new item, the Mystery Box, and Nintendo Switch games Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee.
