Samsung's triple-camera Galaxy A7 (2018) is now available in Malaysia

While the phone is effectively a direct successor to the original Galaxy A9 that first launched in 2016, the new Galaxy A9 tops its predecessor as the first smartphone fitted with a quad-camera main array.

And Samsung has just cemented that idea by revealing a phone with a four cameras on it.

They include a 24-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel 120-degree wide angle lens, a 5-megapixel depth lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.

Hopefully, customers who plan to upgrade to the Galaxy A9 will not have to wait too long for the device to be updated to Android 9 Pie. Also, let us know your thoughts down in the comments on what you think about Samsung's latest killer mid-ranger. The device is backed by a 3,800mAh non-removable battery and support adaptive fast charging. A fingerprint scanner is present on the backside of the phone.

"We're excited to deliver on this promise and debut world leading smartphone camera technology with the Galaxy A9". On the front, it has 6.28-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution. With the MicroSD card slot, the Galaxy A9 users can further expand up to 512GB.

Well, the Samsung Galaxy A9 has been designed for the "Instagram generation". The phone can be purchased in three colour options- Bubblegum Pink, Caviar Black, and Lemonade Blue. Now, as part of that UI, you'll be getting a number of Samsung's apps, like Samsung Pay and Bixby, whether you like it or not.

It's a sign of the times that it's nearly more surprising to see a single camera on the back of Google's flagship Pixel 3 than it is to see quad cameras on this Samsung device, with many other handsets on the market now including two or three lenses on the back.

How much those four cameras are worth it to you will likely come down in price.

It will remain to be seen as to whether the Galaxy A9 Star Pro will be making its way to our shores but we will be reaching out to Samsung Australia after the launch for local availability and pricing.
