Walsh's girlfriend, Rebecca Humphries, responded by dumping him in an open letter in which she accused him of being a controlling, emotionally abusive character.

He has now appeared on BBC's Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two with Mrs Jones to address the scrutiny.

He continued: "I'm not flawless, far from it".

Humphries Tweeted a statement yesterday that she had thought something was going on but Walsh had called her a "psycho" for saying so.

'Despite everything I hope he gets what he wants from this.

Walsh's estranged girlfriend, the actress Rebecca Humphries, subsequently took to Twitter to say she has not received apologies from Walsh or Jones and alleged that Walsh gaslighted her when she voiced her suspicions about his relationship with Jones.

Walsh told It Takes Two host Zoe Ball that his relationship with Ms Humphries "wasn't perfect" but added "that doesn't mean I wanted it to end the way it finally did, and I'm very sorry for that".

Appearing on It Takes Two tonight, Seann said: "I think that, obviously I'm sorry for the hurt that I've caused".

Katya, who is married to fellow "Strictly" dancer Neil Jones, also echoed her previous statement, insisting her relationship was fine.

"This is no excuse but it was a one-off drunken mistake which I am truly sorry for".

Myleene Klass said "A situation recognisable to so many of us".

Seann was up first and said, "Obviously I'm sorry for the hurt that I've caused, we were getting on well, we were having fun, we had a couple of drinks and I regret it deeply".

"I feel it is also important for me to say that the people that know me the most, that love me, know that I'm not the person I'm being portrayed".

Walsh, 32, and Jones are set to continue to dance together on the BBC show, where so far their routines have included a jive and a paso doble to the Matrix theme tune.

Their apologies come after fans were bewildered as Katya's husband, Neil, ignored the photos and videos of the pair kissing and instead cheered on the dance partners for their performance over the weekend.

After the pictures were published she said they were in a "very happy" relationship and that the incident was not a reflection on their relationship.
