Rebel Wilson has doubled down on a post stating she is the first plus sized rom-com star

Rebel Wilson is facing some backlash after incorrectly stating during her visit to "The Ellen Show" that she was the first plus-sized girl to star in a romantic comedy. Take a moment and know the history.

Wilson responded, writing that "it was never my intention to erase anyone else's achievements and I adore you and Queen Latidah so much..."

While the audience cheered, it didn't take long for many on Twitter to raise their digital eyebrow and counter Wilson's claim by mentioning actresses Mo'Nique and Queen Latifah.

Rebel Wilson had been talking about her film Isn't It Romantic on The Ellen Show last week when she made the comments about being plus-sized. "I wish you the best".

Rebel has not addressed the fan reaction to her original comments, but in another Tweet told playwright Claire Willet: '[I] will address when promoting the film in proper forums'. "I never want to disrespect anyone".

Mo'Nique, who starred in 2006's "Phat Girlz", had no time for Wilson's "grey area" concept.

The Australian actress has been not-so-quietly making waves for herself as a comedic force to be reckoned with, with supporting and scene-stealing roles in the Pitch Perfect franchise, How to be Single and Bridesmaids, so her latest foray as a lead is part of a natural career trajectory.

Queen Latifah starred in the 2006 rom-com hit "Last Holiday".

Rebel initially replied saying "there's a slight grey area" and questioned whether they were plus-sized when they filmed the movies. "Technically those films are categorized/billed [sic] as a studio rom-com with a sole lead", she wrote.

Rebel Wilson, who has openly discussed and joked about her weight, will soon star in Isn't It Romantic, a romantic comedy about romantic comedies.

In upcoming film Isn't It Romantic, Rebel stars opposite Liam Hemsworth as a woman who is struck on the head and wakes up in a romantic comedy.
