More evidence pertaining to a PlayStation 4 release of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has surfaced to hint that an official announcement and perhaps a full release aren't far away.

On Monday, members of video gaming forum ResetEra unearthed a post from October in a separate PlayStation forum called PSNProfiles, wherein a user claimed that PUBG was in their PS4's game database.

Initially a PC only game, PUBG is now also available on mobile and Xbox One, as players of rival console PS4 were left in the dark.

PUBG has only ever been a timed exclusive, so it was always coming to Sony's console at some point, especially after it was outed by the South Korean ratings board.

Adding fuel to the fire, Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad revealed on ResetEra that PUBG is indeed due for release in December on PS4.

If you're an Xbox One owner on the hunt for something new to play, a new promotion from Microsoft just might have you covered.

That's not the only reason PUBG is in the news today though, as Microsoft has been tweeting about their X018 event at the weekend.

PUBG Battlegrounds made its Xbox One debut on December 12, 2017.

Though it may be a little unusual to be this close to release without any official announcement, the developer's agreement with Microsoft likely prevents advertising on other platforms before the exclusivity period is over. It's also possible that the version coming to PS4 next month will be past 1.0, which would negate the need for an Early Access-style period.
