It looks as though Nintendo will do the same with Super Smash Bros.

Nintendo came out swiftly and firmly against the caricature, apologising for its inclusion and promising to remove the silhouette from the character's attacking abilities. One of his moves is reportedly a reference to "Fire Attack", a 1982 game where the player is a Civil War-era general defending a fort from torch-wielding Indians.
