NBA All-Star Game Draft will be televised for first time, report says

A firm date for the televised draft has not yet been established, but January 30 and 31 have emerged as two potential targets for a TNT broadcast, according to the people, who were not authorized to discuss the plans publicly.

Last year, the National Basketball Association introduced a new wrinkle to the All-Star Game format with fans continuing to select the five starters for the Eastern and Western Conference. LeBron James and Steph Curry selected the 11 players for their team from the pool of All-Stars but, unfortunately, the draft process was conducted behind closed doors.

In case you don't know what we're talking about, here's a brief refresher: for many years, the league and its players grew a bit exhausted of the format of the All-Star Game, which featured the Eastern Conference vs.

Instead, the league put the decision on the two highest vote-getters to build their respective teams with the players selected for the All-Star game. The draft was described by "playground-style" by the Times, and according to Stein and Draper, there are even projected dates for the event. People loved to see LeBron James and Stephen Curry pick who they wanted to play with.

"What's bad about it?" "It's All-Star Weekend. You got 24 of the best players in the world that's going to make the team".

This should have been televised previous year, but better than late than never.

James said immediately after the draft the process should have been televised. I think everybody wants to see it.

The game was indeed a little more competitive because of it, so they are going to try it again this year in Charlotte.

The 2018 All-Star game was a huge success.

Last season, Team LeBron defeated Team Stephen 148-145.
