Donald Trump calls CNN's Jim Acosta 'very unprofessional'

TRUMP says of JIM ACOSTA, "I don't think he's a smart person", smears APRIL RYAN as "a loser" and "nasty".

CNN reporter Jim Acosta and Donald Trump got into an argument on Wednesday (November 7) that led to the former having his press credentials suspended.

When an intern attempted to take the microphone away from Acosta, he seemed to push away her arm - an incident that prompted press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to suspend his press pass.

Trump has harshly criticized journalists across the board this week - he called Acosta a "rude, bad person" and said he was not smart, and he also mocked foreign reporters for their accents.

When Acosta challenged the president on his use of the word "invasion" to describe a caravan of mainly Honduran migrants and asylum seekers heading to the USA border, Trump launched an attack on the CNN journalist, as an aide tried to physically remove the microphone from Acosta's hands. "It's a group of migrants moving up from Central America towards the border with the U.S.", Acosta said on Wednesday, pushing his own personal opinion and not exactly asking a "question" of the president. "You run CNN, and if you did it well, your ratings would be higher", Trump said.

NABJ President Sarah Glover called them among the "finest reporters covering the White House".

And it would have ended there, just another chapter in the often-tense Trump administration relationship with the press, if the White House hadn't made a decision to reach for a trident.

Trump also told April Ryan of the Urban National Radio Network to "sit down" and wait her turn.

Trump also called out Acosta for his well-documented and theatrical spats with Sanders during the normal course of press briefings. "She doesn't know what the hell she's doing", Trump said of Ryan on Friday. "What a stupid question, and I watch you a lot, and you ask a lot of stupid questions".

Despite losing his White House pass, Acosta is expected to travel to Paris this weekend to cover Trump's trip to meet with world leaders.

"I mean, she intentionally disseminated doctored video footage to discredit a reputable journalist", Kimmel stated.

The New York Times also noted that Acosta's monologues have led "some of his rival White House reporters" to roll their eyes.

CNN responded with a statement. "He gets paid to do that", Trump said.

On Friday, Trump said of Acosta, "He was not nice to that young woman".
