A source told the publication that 75 year old Bobby and his wife Grace Hightower are "not living together at this time".

While De Niro has kept his private life out of the spotlight he did show his softer side while speaking about his family.

Veteran Hollywood actor Robert De Niro has reportedly split from his wife Grace Hightower after more than 20 years of marriage.

Robert and Grace tied the knot in 1997 after dating for over a decade.

The couple have two children, six year old Helen and 20 year old Eliot.

Whilst an insider added to People magazine: "Sometimes things don't work out the way you hope or want them to".

The couple has split after 21 years of marriage, ET has learned. Back in 1999, Robert filed for divorce and engaged in a custody battle over their son.

Instead, they then renewed their wedding vows in 2004 at a starry ceremony in the Catskills, in front of pals including Scorsese, Meryl Streep and De Niro's "Meet the Parents" co-star Ben Stiller, which was catered by Nobu.

Explaining how Grace believes the his son "changed overnight" after being vaccinated as a child, Robert told Today in 2017: 'The vaccines are unsafe to certain people who are more susceptible'.

De Niro, one of America's most respected actors and victor of two Oscars, has tended to keep his family and his private life out of the spotlight.
