Blake Griffin scored 26 points as the Detroit Pistons spoiled the return of Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry by beating the two-time defending National Basketball Association champions, 111-102.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr is taking the blame in the midst of a rare losing streak on the road for Golden State as the team fell to the Pistons on Saturday, despite having Stephen Curry back from injury.

"It was nice to get back out there, get my legs back underneath me", Curry said (via The Mercury News). "Tonight was not like that". "It's important to protect home court and I thought we did a good job doing that". "I think it's on us. The shots started falling and I was aggressive without making stupid plays".

Cleveland got George Hill back after the starting guard missed 11 games with a sprained right shoulder, but he only delivered eight points.

Bulls: Chicago coach Fred Hoiberg said forward Lauri Markkanen practiced with the team on Thursday and took part in Friday's shootaround. As has often been the case this season for the Hawks, the team was thoroughly outplayed in terms of starter to starter comparison and it was the team's bench that produced much of the momentum. "Played a bad first half, and that pretty much set the tone for the game".

"It was two different halves", Curry said.

The Pistons built an 11-point lead in the second quarter and led 54-46 at the half. It's not about one player, everybody's got to do their job whether it's screening, spacing, passing the ball, defending, whatever it is just to make sure you do your job on each possession. "Tonight was probably a game that I could mark down as one of my worst performances as a coach, honestly". With Curry back, the offense should find its rhythm again in short order.

While Wall had a hot night for the Wizards, D'Angelo Russell struggled to get things going for the Nets.

Thompson also had 19 rebounds for his 12 double-double of the season and his sixth in the past seven games.

"That's obviously a great win". "He's such an awesome talent ..."

Thompson added the same thought that his teammates and coaches believe - it won't take long for Curry to run and gun with his teammates the same way he normally does. "He's going to thrive".
