The Washington Redskins have a quarterback problem.

If the Redskins have any hopes of still reaching the playoffs, their best chance of being competitive over these last four games would come with signing Colin Kaepernick to be their starting quarterback.

Meanwhile, Colt McCoy, making his second start in place of Alex Smith, reportedly sustained a broken fibula in the second quarter of the game. "But we will probably go a different direction". "When you're talking about a backup quarterback this late in the game you want someone with a similar skill set to the quarterback you have".

Outside of a 90-yard touchdown romp from Adrian Peterson, McCoy's replacement, Mark Sanchez, proved mostly ineffective in moving the Washington offense.

Against the Eagles, the 32-year-old Sanchez compiled a passer rating of 53.7, going 13 for 21 for only 100 yards with one interception and one fumble that he managed to recover.

Gruden also said McCoy might return this season.

"For me to go in and play was in an emergency situation and those things happen".

Johnson hasn't seen much regular-season action since his first three seasons with the Buccaneers, but when he dons the burgundy and gold, it will be the 12th National Football League uniform Johnson has worn during his career.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Washington worked out E.J. Manuel, T.J. Yates and Mark Sanchez, before opting to move forward with Sanchez. Jonathan Cooper tore a biceps tendon and needs season-ending surgery; Tony Bergstrom will miss at least two games with a high ankle sprain.
