At the 2018 Game Awards, Nintendo announced the first character to be added in Super Smash Bros. Joker, the protagonist of Persona 5, will be playable in the new fighting game, the launch of which is just minutes away. Of greatest interest to me was the fact that you'd never been that into Smash Bros. before, even while accepting it was a good game.

Excellent review of Super Smash Bros.

Surprised? Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime says that's the plan. Ultimate. With the biggest roster ever, including the return of every past character, Smash Ultimate hopes to live up to its name.

For the first Challenger Pack 1, it was revealed tonight that Joker, a mainstay character from the Persona series, would be making his debut. The quirky new fighter is set to release sometime in February. Ultimate. Enjoy the video and don't forget to subscribe to TheGamer for more Super Smash Bros. content! While it's been known that we'd be getting additional characters as DLC for some time, the first character coming to the game post-launch has been revealed, and it may not be who you expected, especially if you happen to be a Persona fan.

I don't know if this is a Japanese thing, since that's we're majority are made, but it just seems weirdly off-puting for a genre that is already pretty niche.
