Age Of Trump: Arab Nation Bahrain Sides With Israel Against Hezbollah

A letter sent to the UN Security Council by Lebanon's ambassador accused Israel of launching a political and diplomatic campaign against Lebanon, following Israel launching a military operation along the border to prevent and destroy underground tunnels dug by Hezbollah from Lebanon into Israeli territory earlier this week.

Unlike Russia, the USA backed without any reservations Israel's decision to launch Northern Shield, with National Security Adviser John Bolton declaring in a statement that the U.S.

"We know that Hezbollah has been digging tunnels into Israel along the Blue Line, violating Israeli sovereignty as well as UN Resolution 1701, [and is] doing so under the closed eyes or open eyes of UN peacekeepers, Lebanese armed forces, and is confirming what the IDF has been saying over and over again since 2006 - Hezbollah is armed and present in southern Lebanon and is using civilian infrastructure for their military purposes", he continued.

In Lebanon, the LBC TV posted an audio message that it said some residents of the border village of Kfar Fila received on their cellphones Thursday warning them to stay away from tunnels. The Israeli military said it had protectively increased forces along the border and warned Hezbollah to keep its distance from the tunnels.

The Obama administration, in contrast to Trump, was careful to avoid singling out Iran as the chief force for terrorism against Israel and US allies in the region in hopes of appeasing the hardline regime as it sought to ink the landmark nuclear pact that Trump abandoned earlier this year.

The Lebanese Army also issued a statement calling Israel's accusations "mere allegations", according to the country's state-run National News Agency (NNA).

Israel said its operation would stop on its side of the border.

Netanyahu said Thursday that Hezbollah, like Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, was acting on behalf of its patron Iran.

One possible answer? A Senior Military official who asked to remain unnamed said it took many years for the IDF to develop the technology to detect the suspected Hezbollah tunnel burrowed in limestone rocks and cliffs.

The Israeli army released photographs, video footage and an illustrative map Tuesday of what it says is the first of several tunnels snaking into Israeli territory that it soon plans to destroy.

Iran envoy Hook told the Free Beacon that despite protestations from some European governments about the implementation of harsh new US sanctions on Iran last month, European companies have been more than willing to go along with the Trump administration in order to avoid penalties. They told the IDF about it.

"We do not know if Hezbollah planted explosives inside those tunnels and we advise you to rethink if you are able to continue living in these homes where there is a ticking time bomb that risks your security", Avichay Adraee wrote.
