Cavs Receive Matthew Dellavedova From Bucks in Multi-Player Trade

George Hill presents

The Wizards joined as a third team in the trade, acquiring Sam Dekker from the Cavaliers, while Jason Smith and a second-round draft pick will be traded to the Bucks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Both Henson and Dellavedova, who won a title with the Cavs in 2016, have one year and about $10 million left on their contracts.

ESPN has reported that the two clubs are finalising a trade which would see respected point guard George Hill and forward Sam Dekker head to the Bucks for Dellavedova, John Henson, a 2021 first-round pick and a 2021 second-round pick. Cleveland will receive the 2022 second-rounder while Washington will receive a 2021 pick.

Hill was highly expected to be traded from the Cavs after it was clear that the team was heading towards the direction of a rebuild. Furthermore, they acquire a steady point guard in Hill, who has started for deep playoff teams in the Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs over the course of his 11-year National Basketball Association career.

Dellavedova spent the first three seasons of his National Basketball Association career in Cleveland, posting averages of 5.7 points, 3.4 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game.

Henson recently underwent surgery to fix a torn ligament in his left wrist. He has spent the past three seasons in Milwaukee, and is averaging 1.7 points and 2.4 assists per game so far this year, though has been held to just 12 games with an ankle injury.

According to Wojnarowski, Milwaukee will save $18 million in salary in the 2019-20 season with the trade.

In 13 games played this season, Hill is averaging 10.8 points and 2.8 assists on 26.5 minutes per game.
