Obsidian and Private Division Announce The Outer Worlds at The Game Awards

The Outer Worlds

The Outer Worlds

It is also the first first-person shooter from Obsidian, who have been more known for their isometric RPGs than first person shooters. In the years since, it's been rumored that Obsidian might release a New Vegas follow-up (New Orleans has been a frequently-rumored location for that apparently non-existent game), but despite all that rumormongering, nothing's happened.

Since The Outer Worlds was revealed last night, one of Obsidian's founders, Chris Avellone, has piped up to offer his take on the timing of the game's announcement. "It affects everything in the game - the setting, the characters, the dialogs".

Obsidian Entertainment announced that it has a new game titled "The Outer Worlds" that is slated to launch in 2019.

The game is not an open-world RPG, but rather a series of interconnected, smaller worlds and locations.

From the original creators of Fallout, Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, comes a new single-player RPG we're supremely keen to jump into. However, based on the 15-minute gameplay demo we've seen so far, the environments look plenty open-ended already - or at least, they do a good job giving you the illusion of being open-ended.

It'll be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

In it, you play as a colonist taking on megacorps... or not.

This is the first look at The Outer Worlds. What do you guys think of Obsidian's Outer Worlds trailer?
