The Epic Games Store is now live.

You can play around with the Epic Store application without account; just click on sign-in later to browse what the Store has to offer without signing in. With Hades, we knew we really wanted to create a game we could develop in partnership with the community, and from talking to the folks at Epic, we realized their store would be the flawless place to conduct our latest experiment.

The Store itself holds just a few games right now. The biggest hook for players now is that Epic will be giving away a free game every two weeks.

Satisfactory did have a Steam page but Coffee Stain have pulled that and explained on YouTube that they now plan to release their Factorio 'em up exclusively through Epic's store. The only types of games it would restrict would be those featuring "adult-only" content.

What's more is, it will be available to "additional games and other open platforms throughout 2019".

The Magic Pro League will include 32 of the world's best players of the game who will compete in weekly matches as well as major tournaments.

The other notable thing about the Epic Games store is its revenue split with game developers, which is closer to the generous terms of an than it is with Steam. Numerous others are already released and are available via Steam and other online stores.

Epic said it aimed to differentiate itself from Steam by only taking a 12% commission on sales. By contrast, Valve asks for 30% of the money paid for games sold via its service.

Gaylonkin's extracurricular hobby as SteamSpy was praised by many, including indie developers, publications and general users alike.

"Exactly how that pans out in the long term remains to be seen, but this is a promising start", he added.

After announcing its existence on 4 December, the Epic Games Store has now launched, during the 2018 Game Awards. The two games are fairly popular and have been well received.
