Labour MPs Told to Ready for U.K. Confidence Vote

Jeremy Corbyn has pledged Labour will call a no-confidence motion in Theresa May's government "soon", while again indicating that if he became prime minister he would prefer to negotiate his own Brexit deal rather than call a second referendum.

Mr Hunt suggested that legally binding assurances from Brussels over the deal's controversial backstop arrangements should be enough to allay the fears of many MPs over the long-term impact of the Agreement.

Meanwhile, two of the biggest donors to the Leave campaign said they believed Brexit would eventually be abandoned by the Government and that the United Kingdom would stay in the EU.

Mr Barclay told Marr: "What recent events have shown, with events over the last week with what happened on the legal advice where the government was forced to act in a way it didn't want to, is the uncertainty in terms of what will happen in the House has increased".

He told The Sunday Times: "We have a mechanism which will give Parliament control over the Brexit negotiations and ensure we do not leave the European Union without a deal on March 29".

"And Brexit paralysis ultimately could lead to no Brexit", he told the BBC.

"I'm saying this would be (an) incredibly damaging breach of trust and it would also be very bad for Britain's reputation overseas, having made a decision to leave the European Union, if we in the end for whatever reasons found we weren't able to do it".

Meanwhile, Liberal Democrat leader Vince Cable said it would be "outrageous and unforgivable" if a no-deal Brexit was allowed to happen, adding: "I think Parliament will take control of this process, will insist that we pursue the option of no Brexit". "We ignore that and the will of the people at our peril".

Chris Grayling has said that blocking Brexit could "open the door" to "extremist" populist political forces in the UK. "I just can't see how it happens with that configuration of Parliament".

"We are checking with Downing Street what the clarifications could amount to" to help May get the deal approved", he said.

Mrs May faced further opposition to her deal from her former Brexit secretary Dominic Raab.

A cross-party group of senior backbenchers - including former Tory ministers - plan what one senior figure branded a "very British coup" if May loses the crunch vote on her Brexit deal on Tuesday.

Northern Ireland Secretary Karen Bradley said a no-deal exit would create a "feeling of unrest".

"I'll do what the right thing is, and the right thing for me is to make sure we don't crash out with no deal". I am working on ways to achieve that outcome.

"If MPs who represent seats that voted 70 per cent to leave say "sorry guys, we're still going to have freedom of movement", they will turn against the political mainstream".
