Willian- Chelsea reject Barcelona bid for Willian – and offer of Brazilian forward Malcom

Maurizio Sarri says Willian will not be allowed to leave Chelsea in January following reports Barcelona are ready to reignite their interest in the player. You have to call the club and ask about the market.

Despite only signing for Barcelona a few months ago, his future has been subject to intense transfer speculation.

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri was in no mood to discuss Willian's contract amid links with LaLiga champions Barcelona.

Defensively Chelsea haven't been too bad in the Premier League - they've only conceded 16 goals in 21 games - but going forward they've struggled somewhat.

Sources have told ESPN FC it would take a significant cash bid for Chelsea to consider parting with Willian, regarded by Sarri as a key first-team player. And, the Blaugrana are hoping to use their interest in Willian by offering Malcom as a sweetener to Chelsea. He already has a €38m transfer fee around him and he would have been a suitable replacement for the ageing and under-performing Blues winger. That Barcelona are also willing to offer cash in addition to the young winger, bringing the valuation of the deal to around £50 million, makes it an appealing prospect.

But, Chelsea have swiftly rejected Barcelona's offer for a couple of reasons.

Brazil global Willian was the subject of strong speculation in pre-season, with Barcelona reportedly having offers for him rejected.
