May will be heading to Brussels following her victory in the House of Commons earlier when MPs, by a majority of 16, backed her European Union withdrawal deal providing she re-negotiates changes to the proposed arrangements over the Northern Ireland border issue.

In an article published by The Telegraph on Sunday, UK Prime Minister Theresa May signalled her readiness to return to negotiations with Brussels to "battle for Britain and Northern Ireland".

MPs have voted to seek an "alternative arrangement" to guarantee the Northern Ireland border stays open after Brexit.

The Sunday Times leads with "plans" on how the Queen may be evacuated in the event of unrest as a result of a no-deal Brexit.

"I will be armed with a fresh mandate, new ideas and a renewed determination to agree a pragmatic solution that delivers the Brexit the British people voted for, while ensuring there is no hard border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland".

LONDON - Last week, Theresa May was sent back to Brussels to renegotiate her Brexit deal. Fox told Sky News in a pre-recorded interview.

He said in those circumstances, the United Kingdom will still need to live up to its responsibilities under the Good Friday Agreement and in his view a solution based on regulatory alignment - as proposed in the backstop - will remain the "best and most sensible option".

Despite Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt saying on Thursday that extra time might be needed to finalise the deal, May insisted in her column the departure date won't change.

On Monday, the House of Commons Brexit Committee is scheduled to visit Brussels to meet Martin Selmayr, the EU negotiator and Commission secretary-general, Sir Tim Barrow, the ambassador to the EU, and Guy Verhofstadt, the European Parliament Brexit coordinator.

On Wednesday will vote on EU-great-grandson, Donald Tusk, with the Irish Prime Minister, Leo Varadkar.

The German foreign minister also rejected British attempts at obtaining further concessions that can satisfy hardliners and critics of the deal in London.

He said: "If they won't negotiate on it then they are likely to end up with no deal and the European Union said that's the best route to get a hard border. That is what Parliament instructed me to do".

Downing Street said it had established "an Alternative Arrangements Working Group" to mull the backstop issue starting Monday, and added that "there are a number of ideas on this, including a unilateral exit mechanism or a time limit".
