Kyle Yorlets, the lead singer of rock band Carverton, died following the incident which police believe unfolded behind his home in Nashville at about 3pm on Thursday (local time).

Yorlets, 24, was shot outside his Torbett Street home, WZTV says.

"The juveniles interacted with Yorlets, took his wallet and ultimately demanded that he surrender the keys to his vehicle", according to a Nashville police press release obtained by PEOPLE.

Under Tennessee law, three of the five can be identified here because they are charged with homicide and they are over the age of 13.

Kyle Yorlets was shot outside his home and was able to make it back inside where one of his housemates found him, according to Metro police.

Police have not yet identified which of the minors pulled the trigger, but said all five are known to police and the court system.

The juveniles fled in a stolen red pickup truck.

Police said in the course of the investigation, they learned that the underage suspects had traveled to the West Nashville Walmart on Charlotte Pike, where all five baby-faced suspected killers were apprehended.

The pickup truck was stolen Wednesday in Oak Grove, Kentucky.

"A loaded nine-millimeter pistol, which had been reported stolen, was recovered from them". He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Yorlets' band, Carverton, released a statement Friday.

"On February 7, 2019 we lost our brother, best friend and bandmate Kyle Yorkets", Carverton posted.

The band shared an emotional statement on Facebook after learning about Yorlets' death.

Investigators found Snapchat photos of the girl in a vehicle with other young people and guns, Aaron said, according to the Tennessean.

Yorlets was a Belmont University graduate, originally from Pennsylvania, police said. In Nashville, he worked at the Mike and Honey and Pastaria restaurants. "We are heartbroken. We will never forget Kyle, and though he is gone too soon his legacy is here to stay". It is an autobiographical song by Yorlets, Ferguson said, who started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Yorlets's family.
