Venture on quests alone or with up to three hunters in a newly designed online drop-in multiplayer system which allows cross-region cooperative play between Japan and the west, uniting the player base for the first time ever.

Monster Hunter World players can now play as Geralt from The Witcher series. Apparently, the new update will feature a whole new icy and snowy region for the players to hunt in and a monster which looks similar to one from the previous "Monster Hunter" entries. But Capcom has done much more than the bare minimum (see: Resident Evil 2), releasing an all new quest line available to players who have reached Hunter Rank 16 or above. Players will be able to complete a special assignment to craft "the Geralt full set of armor" as well as the "Witcher's Silver Sword". You will also be able to engage in conversations with other characters and the choices you make will determine the outcome of the story as it unfolds.

A limited time event; "Contract: Woodland Spirit" will also be available for the more seasoned players that have earned Hunter Rank 50 or above. How do you feel about Geralt joining the fray?

Geralt of Rivia, of Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt fame, is now available as a playable character in Monster Hunter: World. The Nekker α full armor set and Cursed Staff α will be unlocked for your Palico companion. Those who overcome it will be rewarded with the Ciri α full armor set and some dual blades that match. Filming kicked off late previous year with a budget of $60 million, and now it has progressed to the point where Sony Pictures is confident in setting a release date.

As expected, the crossover event between Capcom's Monster Hunter World and CD Projekt RED's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt begins today, it's been announced.
