Arsenal manager Unai Emery was pleased that his side managed to end their six-game winless run away from home in the Premier League following their narrow victory over Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Arsenal haven't kept a clean sheet on the road in the league all season, although when Emery was questioned about this, he didn't seem phased. But Emery has the target in his sights.

Victory moves Arsenal a point behind fourth-placed Manchester United in the congested race for UEFA Champions League qualification, with Chelsea going to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon (Monday morning AEDT).

Goalkeeper Bernd Leno believes the Gunners have been too lax at the back late on and claims the defence must improve if Unai Emery's men are to finish in the top four. "After 26 games there is a one-point difference between us and Manchester United. Every player was working and helping each other and today I'm very proud with our work".

Against Huddersfield, the league's bottom side who had not scored a goal in eight hours and 27 minutes before Saturday, Arsenal, even with a two-goal advantage, never looked comfortable and with better finishing the hosts would have made a game of it.

However, the Gunners were able to win their first away game since November past year to return back to winning ways.

In the glass-half-empty world that Arsenal supporters now inhabit, here was a routine enough victory, courtesy of first-half goals from Alex Iwobi and Alexandre Lacazette, but one that underlined the huge task still facing Unai Emery. "The first target is to score one more goal than the opposition then a clean sheet".

"Every player worked very well and the last action, unfortunately for us, they scored and also, maybe they deserved it".
