Temperatures will be a couple degrees warmer around the Flint area Monday night and Tuesday, so about 4 inches of snow is expected.

NEXT WAVE OF SNOW SHOWERS: Following the brief period of dry weather late Monday morning - early Monday afternoon, snow begins to overspread the area again.

According to a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada for Toronto and most of southern Ontario Sunday, significant snow, freezing rain, and strong winds could be on the horizon.

A low-pressure system brewing over the southern plains in the U.S. "Snow will taper off to flurries on Wednesday", said a Sunday morning Environment Canada news release.

Stretches of interstates 29, 35, 80, 90 and 94 are expected to be hard and risky to travel on during the height of the storm. Most of the wet weather is expected after midnight so you should be in good shape if you have big plans for this Saturday evening.

It's way too soon to know if there will or won't be a severe weather threat involved, but this system (like the one on Tuesday morning) has enough markings to raise some suspicions for the end of the week.

Tuesday will see a high of -2 C, though the wind chill will make it feel closer to -12. "A coating to 1" of accumulation is likely to our northernmost counties - Mifflin and Juniata.
