The tweet has since disappeared from BET's timeline but, it's too little too late for Queen Barbie and her Barbie Army.

After the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 10), the BET Twitter account celebrated Cardi B 's big Grammy win by sharing an article with the headline: "Cardi B Is The First Solo Female Rapper To Win Best Rap Album, And Fans Are Weeping".

"Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lace front", BET said in since-deleted posts across social media. In a follow-up tweet, she announced that neither she nor any of the acts on the famed Young Money label would be appearing at June's BET Experience.

Lil Wayne was also scheduled to perform.

On Monday, the network released a statement apologizing for an offensive tweet getting out to the masses. Nicki has paved the way for so many performers and has solidified her place as one of the most powerful figures in the music industry.

Now, the company has issued an apology and insisted the post "should never have been written".

In another post, Nicki thanked her fans for their support, writing. "And further does not reflect our company values", the network said.

In a statement, BET apologized to Minaj for the "hurt, disappointment and confusion that this post has caused". We are committed to doing everything we can to address the situation.

The network added: "We understand Nicki's position and look forward to continuing our dialogue with her". The seventh annual concert series will be held June 20-22 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles ahead of the BET Awards on June 23.
