The 6-foot-5 shooting guard named his final five schools back on December 28, with that list being the Kentucky Wildcats. "On my visit we watched film together, and he talks with so much energy".

Five-star shooting guard Anthony Edwards, the No. 2 overall prospect in the Class of 2019 247Sports composite rankings, committed to the University of Georgia Monday morning.

Kentucky now has the ninth-ranked 2019 recruiting class in the 247Sports rankings.

Edwards, a McDonald's All-American and the No. 1 overall player according to 247Sports, is obviously the biggest prize of the 2019 recruiting class, but Crean has also landed two more top-100 wings in Carver (AL) small forward Jaykwon Walton and Chaminade-Madonna Prep small forward Toumani Camara.

"I went to a game and I felt the fans in the gym, everybody showing love, and I felt like I was home", Edwards continued.

Crean, in his first year at Georgia, coached Wade at Marquette and Oladipo at Indiana.

Edwards cited Georgia coach Tom Crean's relationship with two National Basketball Association stars as a factor of why he picked UGA. Edwards says having family so close was "a big factor".

For the Atlanta Xpress on the Under Armour circuit, Edwards averaged 21 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from the floor and 45 percent from beyond the arc.
