That was before Apex Legends, though, which has found a ton of early success since its surprise launch last week. Sponsored by our friends at Twitch, the Rivals Apex Legends Challenge will take place this Tuesday the 12th and next Tuesday the 19th, with 48 of the biggest streamers on Twitch competing live in Apex Legends. Users select a player character and are dropped into a sandbox environment, where they have to scavenge materials and battle other players to survive. @PlayApex hit 25 million players this morning.

While some have offered suggestions to Tfue on ways he can avoid stream snipers in his games, the superstar has pretty much made it clear that he would rather stop streaming the game than jump through all the hoops required to prevent it from happening.

"Despite having over 600,000 less total hours streamed than Fortnite in the past seven days, Apex Legends incredibly has had nearly 11 million more total hours watched", notes Dexerto. The real difficulty at the moment seems to be adapting a frantic shooter like Apex Legends for touch controls.

Apex Legends has only been out for just over a week but is already the hot new battle royale game of the moment.

Player counts aren't the only signs of Apex Legends' success.

Well, all of those rumors turned out to be true and Apex Legends is now taking over the video game world with already over ten million players.

There's always 99 problems to worry about while playing in a battle royale game, but Apex's loot system isn't one. This is still exciting news for mobile gamers, though.

And as fans wait for news on Apex Legends PS4 crossplay, Sony America boss Shawn Layden has given an update on cross-platform support. Many have hoped that the developers will add the ability for smaller teams and solo play too.

Peak viewership numbers tell a similar story, with Apex Legends securing 491,894 viewers and Fortnite landing at 326,454.
