According to the Steam listing for the MCC you'll need an Xbox Live account; this is most likely so your profile is integrated into the Halo ecosystem that now exists on console. Microsoft added that with 343 Industries focusing on Halo Infinite, they had to enlist the help of two external studios to make the port happen: Scottish developer Ruffian Games and Splash Damage, the British devs behind Enemy Territory and Dirty Bomb more recently. Now built for PC with mouse and keyboard support and up to 4K UHD and HDR. This will be different on PC as Halo Reach will actually be the first game to be released on this platform, and the PC version will include all game content. Members will receive "the entirety of Halo: Reach", according to Microsoft.

"The most important and critical element of this project is ensuring that Halo: The Master Chief Collection delivers a true "first class" experience on PC", Microsoft said in a statement.

It's not clear when they'll start to arrive, but you'll be able to buy it either on Steam or from the Microsoft Store. This is something that the community has practically begged for, and Microsoft and 343 Industries granting them their wish should be commended.

This will then be followed with Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (Campaign) and then Halo 4. Halo: Reach doesn't yet have a release date on either PC or console. He noted that "the path for taking a service like Game Pass and bringing it to PC is a natural pass". The addition of Halo: Reach means it will soon contain every Halo shooter except for Halo 5, and that every game in the series will be available on Xbox Game Pass. There's also some kind of plan to "evolve and grow" each of the games with community input, though it's not clear how extensive those post-release plans are.
