"I'm asking not to rule out the history of this issue, but in the context in which this was said by Ilhan", she reportedly said during a Facebook thread discussing the violent history of the "dual allegiance" trope against Jewish people.

It's only been two months since Omar assumed her office, but some Democrats are seeking a challenger who might run against her in 2020 and push her out of her seat in Congress, according to The Hill.

Moderate Minnesota Democrats are already looking for ways to primary Rep.

As first reported by Politico late Tuesday, Sisa, in the course of a Facebook exchange over Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar's controversial recent remarks, asked another commenter, "Do you not think that the American government and American Jewish community has a dual allegiance to the state of Israel?"

Omar has come under heavy criticism from both Republicans and Democrats for the use of anti-Semitic slurs.

Bee attempted to defend Omar by noting that she did apologize when enough pressure was put upon her, which was immediately undone by the fact that Omar later spoke about how the Israel lobby forces Jews to have "dual loyalty".

The House made a decision to vote on a resolution last week to condemn anti-Semitism in response to Omar's comments. Ron Latz (D) said in an interview.

"Our community is exasperated by Rep. Omar's unfulfilled promises to listen and learn from Jewish constituents while seemingly simultaneously finding another opportunity to make an anti-Semitic remark and insult our community", said the executive director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas, Steve Hunegs, said in a statement.

Latz, who supported Omar's rival in the 2018 Democratic primary, said the freshman Democrat should be anxious.
