Real Madrid agree €50m deal for first summer signing under Zidane

Zinedine Zidane held his first training session with Real Madrid's squad on Wednesday.

Still only 21, he began his career with Sao Paulo in his native Brazil before moving to Porto last summer.

He played 34 matches with the Portuguese champions, scoring three goals, including one in the group stage of the Champions League.

"Zidane is ideal for Madrid and this is flawless for himself for another great opportunity to show how good he is with a new project after the fantastic things he has achieved in recent years", Mourinho was quoted as saying by El Chiringuito while reacting on Zidane's appointment. "I need to be playing week in, week out and that has not happened this season".

The 46-year-old Frenchman was re-instated as Real's manager for his second stint at the club on Monday.

But after Zidane stepped down as boss and Cristiano Ronaldo left, Bale stayed put in the hope of filling the void up front.

But Barnett insists his client isn't seeking a move away - for now.

During his previous spell at Real, Zidane and Bale fell out over how the winger should play.

Spanish football analyst Terry Gibson expects Zinedine Zidane to target big name signings in the summer transfer window after his return to Real Madrid.

"If it doesn't work out, we will talk again". At the moment he's very happy.

After stepping down at the end of last season, Los Blancos appointed Julen Lopetegui who only lasted for about three months before being shown the exit doors. I think that was the cause of it.

"Over the period of time it just got worse".

"I never talked about whether I would want to return to the position and I think, in my opinion, this is a ideal solution".
