Australian senator egged after racist comments

He went on to claim the real cause of the bloodshed that's left at least 49 people dead is New Zealand's immigration policy.

QUEENSLAND senator Fraser Anning has been caught on camera smacking a teenage boy in the face twice after he cracked an egg over his head at a press conference in Melbourne.

The internet has a new hero - egg boy. The man was filming on his phone as he smashed the egg on top of Mr Anning's head.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that the remarks were "disgusting".

In a written statement issued by his office, Senator Anning said that [the terrorist attack] highlighted the growing fear of "Muslim presence" within Australia and New Zealand.

The senator then responds by punching the 17-year-old who seems entirely unphased by the assault, but is then tackled to the ground by Anning's supporters and held in a chokehold.

Independent Queensland Senator Fraser Anning has been slammed for his appalling response to the Christchurch terror attack.

Calling the religion as a violent ideology, Senator Anning said that Islam is a violent ideology of a "despot" acting as a religious leader.

Mr Morrison today announced the Coalition and Labor would pass a motion censuring Senator Anning for the statement when Parliament returns next month.

"I do wonder if he's made Australians less safe overseas", he said.

"It is disgusting and has no place in the Australian Parliament and hopefully the voters will deal with this fellow in the most effective way".

"We call on the Australian government to expel this man who blames victims for their own violent deaths, and uses references to genocide to further his hateful agenda".

The senator also attacked the Prophet and blamed Muslim immigration for the massacre, Mr Shanmugam added in the Facebook post on Friday night.

Speaking at the Islamic Council of Victoria and supported by fellow MPs Mark Dreyfus, Peter Khalil, Maria Vambakinou and Tim Watts, Mr Shorten said most Australians stood in solidarity with the Islamic community.

Australian politicians have also denounced his remarks. Fraser Anning in a written statement.
