Hello Games has announced yet another expansion for No Man's Sky.

Whatever you think about No Man's Sky, the roller coaster of emotions that surrounds this space exploration sim remains one of the most interesting stories of this generation of video games.

"No Man's Sky Online includes a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players everywhere in the universe to meet and play together", says Hello Games.

Hello Games will apparently reveal more details about No Man's Sky Beyond in the coming weeks and months leading up to its release, including the nature of the other two updates that will join with No Man's Sky Online.

Dubbed Beyond, Hello Games founder Sean Murray said today that this new update will have three major components to it. Essentially, these changes make it sound like No Man's Sky will become more like an MMO, though Hello Games insists that isn't the case (at least not in a monetization sense). The massive No Man's Sky Next expansion past year added significant new features fans had dreamed of like multiplayer, space battles, and base building. Dubbed Beyond, it's set to launch this summer and will consist of three major updates rolled into one large release that'll be free for existing players. The new online experience won't require a subscription, won't contain microtransactions, and will be free for all players, according to the developer.

No Man's Sky hasn't always had a great relationship with multiplayer. How has your opinion changed regarding the game?

Each chapter for No Man's Sky has been more successful than the last.
