Infinity Ward and Respawn co-founder Jason West has joined Epic Games – report

Epic Games is known for their poaching skills, getting even the best of developers to become exclusive to their DRM. West's track record for developing shooters is pretty stellar and with Epic mostly focusing on games with guns, West is sure to be a good fit.

Former Infinity Ward president and co-founder of Respawn Entertainment, Jason West, announced his retirement from the studio he formed with fellow Infinity Ward founder Vince Zampella back in 2013.

Epic Games has been flexing its financial muscle fueled by the wildly successful Fortnite battle royale game.

Epic Games has allegedly hired Jason West, co-founder of Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment, to work on game development. West was also at Respawn for part of Titanfall's development.

While we haven't heard directly from Epic Games about this matter (and we might not for some time) the thought of West now working with the company is an interesting one.

At Infinity Ward, West and the rest of the team created the vaunted Call of Duty series for Activision. Epic has put out titles in various degrees of early access for much of the past few years, but nothing's caught on the way Fortnite has.

Jason West was one of the original founders of Infinity Ward and one of the creators of Call of Duty franchise.
