HBO Drops Teaser for ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8, Episode 2

Game of Thrones is kicking off tonight on HBO and you may not know that there are a ton of very famous superfans of the show out there.

Following last night's Game Of Thrones, HBO shared a teaser of the next episode, which looks to pick up where things left off with Jaime Lannister. This almost 18-minute video goes to great lengths to show how the final season of the epic, award-winning drama came together, highlighting the talented cast and crew that put in grueling hours to make it all possible.

That includes 11.8 million television viewers who watched the popular fantasy drama on HBO at 9 p.m. Sunday night. The Season 8 premiere may not have been great for all the characters, but it was a hit for the show and HBO!

For reference, the show's seventh season averaged 10.26 million viewers in its initial airings and 32.8 million with streaming, DVR viewing, on-air replays, and on-demand included. The true number of views for Episode 1 will climb much higher, as people who didn't watch right away catch up over the next few days. It had the "largest night of streaming activity ever for HBO", according to the network.

In fact, the premiere of Season 5 nearly matched the Season 8 premiere with its April 12, 2015 airing.

So yesterday, all of the hype on social media was about the return of Game Of Thrones.

Game of Thrones is in the midst of its eighth and final season. While Sansa and Arya had previously taken up residence at their former home in Winterfell last season, they were joined by Jon Snow in a heartwarming reunion, as well as Bran Stark in a, uh, less heartwarming reunion.
