Beyonce has dropped a surprise 40-track companion album of her "Homecoming" 2018 Coachella performance to accompany the Netflix documentary about the event that arrived early this morning.

But, ever the generous queen, Beyoncé offered up a worthwhile supplement.

Beyonce's history-making 2018 Coachella performance is now available as both a documentary and a live album. Beyonce included a studio cover of Frankie Beverly and Maze's 1981 song, "Before I Let Go", which she covered while in Destiny's Child back in 1997.

For what it's worth: Lemonade still is not on Spotify, so for subscribers, this might be the best way to hear "Formation", "Hold Up" and "Freedom", among other interspersed Lemonade tracks.

She shared the stage with 100 dancers and a brass marching band for the expertly choreographed set.

The New York Times described the film - which is nearly 150 minutes long - as consisting of footage "viewers have already seen (and, perhaps, seen again and again) this time through a greater variety of angles and Instagram-like filters".

After a brief moment of peace and quiet, the Beyhive is abuzz yet again.

The film presents behind-the-scenes footage and interviews from before, during and after the show.

"Some of the film's best scenes include the pop diva sternly but kindly dragging her team, who seem to have a hard time grasping her highly specific vision". The album also fetures "I Been On", which was first released in 2013 but has never featured on an official album. So much to see.

"The singing superstar announced the news by tweeting a picture of the album cover and writing simply: "#HOMECOMING out now". "If one were so inclined".
