Dark Phoenix Final Trailer is Here!

Which means that this movie, Dark Phoenix, will be the swan song for this particular iteration of the X-Men series. The clip begins with a lengthy summary of the X-Men's first "space mission", which finds Jean first coming into contact with the titular entity.

Perhaps the greatest asset this trailer for Dark Phoenix presents is the fact that we see a clear line of story for Jean's ascendence into darkness.

Does Jean Grey start controlling other X-Men with her mind? He looks like he's about to kill someone or peek into a girls locker room or something like that. Hopefully we're proven wrong.

Though it doesn't offer a ton of additional information by way of the plot - it hits numerous same narrative beats as past trailers have, taking us through the timeline of Jean Grey's (Sophie Turner) metamorphosis into her sinister alter-ego the Dark Phoenix - but it does feature some super-tasty new footage that should boost hype for the film. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is almost killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once the team returns back home, a smitten Cyclops jokes that all the kids have taken to calling her "Phoenix". Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet.

Whether intentional or not, Dark Phoenix could use the wave of attention from Sunday's episode of Game of Thrones, seeing as the premiere episode of the show's eighth season broke records with 17.4 million viewers watching.
