Can Luke Walton take the Kings to the NEXT LEVEL

Walton and Divac had played together on the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2004-05 season and the duo met on Saturday, when reports had first come out of their possible partnership, before making it official with this announcement.

The Sacramento Kings have hired Luke Walton as their coach just days after he parted ways with the Los Angeles Lakers following three losing seasons.

The Cavaliers are expected to meet with assistants on teams involved in the playoffs later, sources said.

Prior to the Lakers job, Walton had coaching experience in the National Basketball Association D-League (now the G-League) with the Los Angeles D-Fenders during the 2013-14 season as a player development coach.

According to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavs have begun conducting interviews in their coaching search this week, and both Juwan Howard and Dallas Mavericks assistant Jamahl Mosley will be included in those interviews. Now, news surfaced noting that Walton has been made the head coach of the Sacramento Kings.

In 2016, after the unfortunate passing of his wife, Williams left Oklahoma for San Antonio where he took up a role in the front office. Many are saying Walton was let go because of a bad season the team had, despite having LeBron James on their roster.

Kings fans FOX40 spoke with over the weekend had mixed feelings about Walton as head coach. Lue coached current Lakers star LeBron James from 2014-18 with the Cavs.

Personally, I would love to see Williams be the Lakers coach, and if Pelinka can finally do the right thing and show he is capable of doing his job, the chances of a deal being done are very very likely.
