Huawei faces allegations that it's being funded by Chinese state security

The US increasingly also is putting pressure on its allies, including Europe, New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom, to ban Huawei products, with threats that it would be "difficult" for US to do business in countries that deployed Huawei equipment.

It is the first time Huawei is releasing a quarterly earnings report departing from the practice of normal half yearly or full-year results.

Accusations against Huawei have regularly come without public evidence, but the U.S. has remained adamant that the company is a danger to national security.

Huawei has been receiving funding from branches of state security apparatus, the Central Intelligence Agency has told spy chiefs, The Times revealed after months of speculation over the Chinese telecommunications giant's relationship with the Chinese state.

According to online market intelligence platform IPlytics, the Chinese company leads the race in the number of 5G standard technical contributions by a company. Huawei also said that the company was able to ship more than 70,000 5G base stations on several countries around the world.

The company denies USA accusations it facilitates Chinese spying.

U.S. intelligence agencies have renewed their attack against Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei, accusing it of being funded by Chinese state security.

Charles Yang, president of Huawei Middle East, told Brinkwire Middle East, that Huawei will not be put off by the false accusations by the USA and will push ahead with its 5G rollout and investments in the Middle East as well as globally. It did not disclose year-ago comparable figures, but according to market research firm Strategy Analytics, Huawei shipped 39.3 million smartphones in the first quarter of last year.

In Q1 of this year, Huawei generated CNY179.7 billion ($27 Billion) in revenue, a 39 percent year-on-year growth.

Last few years, Huawei has been testing technology for intelligent connected cars in Chinese cities such as Shanghai, Shenzhen and Wuxi and has signed cooperation deals with a swathe of vehicle makers including FAW, Dongfeng and Changan.
